Touring See

Last Sunday I went to ski in See for the first time this season. Fresh snow was available but not quite as good as last year. So after 3½ hours of non stop powder runs on the standard routes, marked with red:

...and once down to the valley, I got bored. I noticed a few ski touring groups heading for easy peak next to the ski resort and decided to join them. Also weather seemed like it could clear up as blue skies were approaching form north west. The top section of the touring peak with already some tracks from the day:

Weather started clearing up just as I thought.

A bunch of people came down before the sun fully broke out.

And even more people came down when the sun came out.

Since I starter hiking so late, I got to be alone on the tracked slope.

The terrain was not at all steep and looked really safe, just a few rocks here and there. Since weather was cloudy in the morning all the groups went to the same place. The groups seemed to consist mostly of elderly people who were having a good time though skiing looked sketchy as it often does with the light weight touring gear. When I started skiing down I noticed two groups enjoying picnics on the sunny slope, or so I thought. After I was back on the traverse to the lifts I saw a helicopter approaching and winching a person to the slope, and then picking someone up. Clearly someone from the elderly groups had injured them selves quite badly. They did not however ask or signal for help as I skied past them.

Oh well, maybe the heli service was cheap and/or insured for them and got the injured one to proper care fast.

Now I've done ski touring in See as well. Check.
